Met my wife at the LIFE! I am still married to her since meeting her there 28 years ago! Used to go there every weekend after the Maikafer or the Taverne or wherever else we were! |

I was at Cooke from March 1980 until July 1983. I was in HHC, 1st IDF. I worked in the Division G1. I played drums in a band on weekends on and off post. Had great times while in Goep. I only went to the LIFE maybe 2 times while I was over there. Not my cup of tea at the time because I didn't much care for DISCO's because I was a musician. Anyways a bunch of buddies of mine wanted to go there one night after we played a gig at the Old Rod and Gun Club but I decided to stay in my room and drink beer there. The next day when I ran into them they had fat lips and black eyes. I guess they got jumped by a group of Blue Spaders when they were leaving. I don't know what happened but I preferred the Taverne or Maikaifer because of the music. I also loved going down to the Express by the Bahnhof during the week when I had a day off from CQ and pounding beers. I sure miss those times. I also miss the little old lady that had the Snik Snack Shack down the road and around the corner from the Bahnhof. She had awesome currywurst.
